2019 Audi Q7 Prestige
2019 Audi Q7 Prestige Crossover shoppers looking for the best, stop Shortlist of the Audi Q7. The near-perfect balance of luxury, sophistication, driving enthusiasm and high-tech features makes it a self-runner for those who have the budget for such a vehicle. We were lucky to have a Q7 3.0T Prestige in our long-term fleet in 2017 and we found very little objectionable.
Two engines are available as standard — an efficient turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a zesty-charged V-6—and both with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. Low-tempo automated emergency braking is standard, but those looking for more advanced driver assistance features are finding what they’re looking for in the midrange Premium Plus and Top Spec Prestige trims.
The entry-level premium trim wins navigation as standard. Premium Plus gets 2019 Audi Q7 Prestige virtual cockpit (a 12.3-in-configurable digital driver information display), a 360-degree dead camera system, navigation, full LED headlights, wireless charging, and an antenna boost.

2019 Audi Q7 Prestige Side assistant and backward collision decrease are now part of an updated convenience options package. Park support is included in the optional driver assistance bundle (standard in the upper prestige trim). And every Q7 with 20-inch wheels now has running grounds all year round. There are also some new alloy wheels.
A new edition of the features marks the 2019 model year for the Q7. All models are now equipped with navigation, while the mid-range Premium Plus trim is now Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital lane cluster, a 360-degree exterior camera system, LED head and rear lights, and a wireless one as standard Mobile smartphone charging path. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic warning are now part of the convenience package on all Q7 models. The optional 20-inch wheels are now fitted with full-season tires and two new 21-inch wheel designs are now available.
As a family carrier, the Q7 is a very safe choice for your most valuable charge, receiving five stars for its crash capability from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Q7 missed the top safety of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety pick for headlights that scored only marginally but the rest of that agency’s tests. Key security features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking
- Standard forward collision warning
- Available adaptive cruise control

A Q7 cabin is a special place with its minimalist, contemporary design combined with a lot of technology and excellent comfort and construction quality. Beautiful materials and design underline the interior of the Q7, as well as the intelligent layout of its controls and comfortable seats that have both ample support and adjustability.
The premium versions come with amenities. To get the signature of the Q7, however, you need to spring at least the Premium Plus trim of the center of the level: The configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster Virtual Cockpit, which essentially provides a secondary infotainment screen directly into the Driver S-Sant.
The Q7 features standard 7.0-inch screens in the cluster and on the line, with the latter rising to an 8.3 inch in the top trimming. Other trick features — including 4G LTE connectivity with Google Maps — are also available, although the standard package is respectable and there are a sufficient number of USB and 12-volt sockets. The audiophiles can revel in multiple audio options topped by a Bang & Olufsen system with 23 speakers and 1920 watts of juice.
Like most three-row SUVs, there is no ton of cargo space in Audi’s hold when all seats are in use. But it has space comparable to its key rivals, and the rear row can be quickly lifted or lowered via power control, offsetting the somewhat clumsy middle row operation. With all the seats stowed, the Q7 had room for 25 of our suitcases.

The Q7 is best suited with the supercharged V-6 and adaptive air suspension, and we recommend the prestige trim with the Adaptive Chassis package. It comes with a high price, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, you get one of the best medium-sized luxury crossovers on sale today as well as our three-time 10-best trucks and SUVs award winners.
This top spec trim also gives you plenty of creature features, such as a four-zone automatic climate control kit, a steering wheel with tipping and telescope steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and leather seats. Not to mention that the Quattro all-wheel drive is standard on all Q7 models, so you don’t have to pay extra if you want the security of extra traction.

The Q7 is one of the fastest and most powerful SUVs in its class and yet very well equipped. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are standard, but buyers can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder or a supercharged V-6. In our tests, the V-6 proved to be a right fleet, registering a 5.5-second zero-to-60-mph time; However, the four-cylinder is not a hose and managed a 7.0-second time in the same test. The Q7 with the four-cylinder can shed 4400 pounds; With the V-6, he can haul 7700 pounds.

Despite its mass, when fitted with the optional performance tires on 21-inch wheels, the Q7 feels like an encircling sports car low and lithe on. The adjustability of the optional air suspension, coupled with the added agility from the all-wheel steering, makes the Q7 surprisingly fun to blast down a curvy back road.
The fuel economy of the Q7 “is good but is not large, and this is partly due to the fact that it is tasked with motivating the considerable weight of its engines. The 2.0-liter engine does not improve the fuel consumption of the V-6; both engines are on the highway at 19mpg in the city. At 25 mpg we had a 24-mpg V-6 with 26 mpg and four-cylinder 26 mpg.
