2019 Audi A8 Canada welcome to audicarusa.com discover New Audi sedans, SUVs & coupes get our expert review.  Twenty years ago, the A8 prototype made its debut with the new space-frame concept. Replaced much of the steel with lightweight aluminum. The new fourth generation emphasizes light construction again, but it is also a key to technology – and there is a ton! A new name strategy is added to the new look and complexity. In Canada, the V6 will be A8l 55, while the V8 A8l will carry 60 mark. While Europe will see regular and large wheelbase versions, Canada will only take the latter – it adds an extra 130mm between the wheels. The reality is that the stretched vehicle has more beautiful dimensions, making the car look a little deeper and darker.

Just in the third quarter of 2018, the A8L will run a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that produces 340 hp and a 369 lb-ft torque between 55, 1,370 and 4,500 rpm. He will come out of the track abundantly and cut the big A8 at 100 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds, which is respectable. The 4.0 L turbo-charged V8 ups the ante to 460 hp and 487 lb.-ft. Torque. To say the obvious, it makes a big difference to the way the A8 picks up its side benches and gallops forward. On the drive track it pulls effortlessly while making the right kind of noise. For the 100 km/h dash there was no official time, but based on the feeling it will be a second faster than the V6.

Both engines fire the force on the sidewalk through an eight-speed automatic transmission and all four wheels. The transfer is seamless in its shifts and it proves to be ready to drop a number of wheels if necessary. Similarly, the Quattro system remains invisible in its action as it should by pulling the A8 out of a switch with authority. It has the perfect mix of strength and traction. Both the V6 and V8 engines use a mild hybrid system that draws power from a 48-volt battery. The Belt/Generator-/Starter-System (BAS) combines the starter and the generator into a unit that is connected to the motor by a belt. He has a number of pluses. First, there are faster restarts for the idle stop control. More importantly, if necessary, he has a helping hand to the engine — 16 hp and 44 lb.-ft. Torque can give. In addition, it ratzt 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers from the average fuel consumption.

The A8 suspension and steering also provide great overturning maneuvers. The first is the addition of the optional rear wheel steering. The rear wheels rotate up to 60 km / h in the opposite direction to the front wheel, but turn 60 km / h in the same direction as the front wheels. The device reduces the rotation circle from 1.1 meters to 11.4 meters. More stable lane changes with faster speed.

The optional suspension is completely different – now the actor. Each corner is supported by an electric motor that controls the left and right half of the load balancing air springs and front and rear cornering bars. This means that each wheel can be lifted or lowered depending on the need. On the drive track it provides a smoother ride by lifting the squat during acceleration and pitch under braking. It also cuts the amount of body roll through a quick corner on the most cheerful note.

The clever part is with speeds of up to 70 km/h, the suspension uses the camera, which is used as part of the collision avoidance system to read the road and look for unevenness. When the system detects a ripple in the road, it begins to do its thing before the car hits the bumper. As a result, the interference with the driving quality proved to be very low. The suspension can be adjusted to the sound of the drive, as with the engine, accelerator and steering. The comfort saw the car blow down the freeway. The choice of dynamic mode sharpened the feeling and gave more feedback. As such, it provided the best of two diverging worlds — excellent highway comfort and yet a very sporty feeling when transforming envelopes.

The cabin will more than meet the high demands of the rest of the car. The materials — everything from butter leather to real wood accents — are first class. Thin, pinstreifen-like ambient lighting and the double moon roof contribute to the spatiality. The look is also off the chart.

As it has become an Audi standard, the instrumentation is handled by the virtual cockpit of the company — it makes it possible to see everything the driver desires from conventional instrumentation to the map. New are two touch screens that consume the middle stack. The top screen takes care of all infotainment, telephone, vehicle settings and navigation functions. The bottom screen is for the climate control. However, when you enter a destination in the navigation system, the bottom screen becomes a writing tablet. The combination sees all the conventional buttons disappear, with the exception of one for the volume of the disc and the usual steering column stems. The effect is breathtaking.

Move backwards and things are just as coming — the reclining backseat features a massage function and a removable central touchpad that gives the driver full control over everything up to and including the parasols. It’s decadent and then some.

These are the visual aspects. The underlying technology is confusing — this will be the first production vehicle to be tailored to Tier 3 autonomous driving. It also comes with all the usual connectivity and some nice features. If the sensors are used to detect another vehicle or cyclist as part of the Collision prevention package (and there are 23 sensors, including cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors), it will delay opening the door until the danger is over. Then there is the auto-park feature — it will eventually include a smartphone app that allows the car to be parked remotely. The list goes on and on!

The latest fourth-sized Audi A8 is really heading in the right direction. It’s faster, but more fuel efficient, it’s lighter, but it comes with more equipment and it has one of the most beautiful interiors that can be found regardless of price. It sets a new standard for what is expected of a luxurious sedan. The full Canadian specifications and prices will be announced closer to the A8 launch in the third quarter in 2018.

For the last Thanksgiving we have the 2019 Audi A8 sampled. Now we know how much it will cost — at least in the US. Audi has announced that the A8 will start at US $84795, although the Canadian pricing has not yet been fixed. This money buys you a turbo charge, 3.0 L V6 Power 340 PS and 369-lb.-ft. Torque. If that’s not enough Oomph for your luxury sedan, then you could wait for the V8 version that’s due next summer.

As always, the Audi flagship is available with a variety of modern driving assistants and safety technology. Buyers can use their A8 with a special LG setup that “predicts” bumps by lifting or lowering a wheel to smooth out road irregularities. In addition, a four-wheel steering and a hands-on adaptive cruise control could also boost the price if you choose.
