2022 Audi A5 after receiving a comprehensive update for 2022, the Audi A4 and A5 entered the 2021 model year with only minor adjustments.
The key between them is 13-horsepower power for models equipped with 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, belonging to the new lightweight hybrid system.
In the case of 2022 A4, that means the base A4 40 now has 201 horsepower, and the slightly cooler A4 45 now has 261 hp. Audi has also made a standard all-wheel-drive on the A4 40, meaning there is no longer an A4 model with front-wheel drive.
For A5 2022, there is a new A5 40 base with 201 hp and AWD. A5 45, which was previously the basic model in the A5 range, now has 261 hp. Audi notes that the new A5 40 model is only available in the Sportback A5 liftback sedan style.
Audi also increased the number of standard features on A4 and A5. This includes Apple CarPlay, lane departure warnings, and integrated toll modules.
Upgrades to the Premium Plus class now also include adaptive cruise control with the help of active paths, surround-view cameras, and direct detection systems for the steering wheel, while opting for the Prestige class now also includes heated rear seats.
The Convenience package has been expanded to include a heated steering wheel and parking assistance with front and rear parking sensors, and on various models, there is a new Black Optic package.
2022 Audi A4 and A5 are available to order and are priced starting at $ 40,095 and $ 42,795, respectively. Both figures include goals.
2022 Audi A5 News
Nobody has ever said that the section also can’t be practical, and the Audi A5 Sportback 2022 combines the best of what we like about the A4 sedan and A5 coupe and adds a hatchback cargo hold that is mostly hidden under the stylish fastback roofline.
This four-door athletic competes with other sedans that have a similar style, such as the BMW 4-series Gran Coupe and Kia Stinger, and carries Audi’s advanced-technology approach and simple yet chic interior design.
The rear seat headroom is not as cheap as the more traditional A4 sedans, but the A5 cargo volume covers that deficiency and then some.
Like other Audi A4 and A5 lines, the A5 Sportback Powertrain is now equipped with a new 12-volt hybrid system.
The A5 Sportback also received a 40 “four-cylinder turbo engine lower than the A4 line this year while the stronger” 45 “engine was the only offer. Both engines rose 13 horsepower this year.
The basic Premium model now comes standard with Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity, lane departure warnings, and integrated toll road transponders; The car’s optional Comfort package now includes a heated steering wheel and front and rear parking sensors.
The mid-range Premium Plus gets several standard driver assistance features and the Prestige model now comes with a heated rear seat.
2022 Audi A5 Redesign
On the A5 redesign side, Audi will receive an update, as evidenced by the prototype for the updated A5 Sportback.
The update will match the recently introduced A4-related ranks, which means a revised look, some extra items in the cabin, and lightweight hybrid technology.
The update represents a mid-cycle refreshment for cars and must be introduced for the 2022 or 2021 models.
Looking at the spy photos of the updated A5 Sportback, we can see that the headlights feature new internal features including a new design for daytime running lights. The front grille is also slightly wider and lower than the current A5 Sportback.
At the rear, the shape of the taillights is similar to the current A5 Sportback but additional detail makes the unit resemble the design on the A6 and A7, and we can also see new chrome accents joining the headlights as in more premium models. Finally, there is also a new exhaust tip with a rectangular shape.

There is no cabin picture but from the updated A4 we know that a larger 10.1-inch touch screen will be added to the top of the dashboard for infotainment.
The screen can be used as a smartphone and is also controlled through voice activation and the talk button on the steering wheel.
The power train must be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that matches the current 252-horsepower Sportback A5. However, thee-Tron plug-in hybrid A5 Sportback is expected to finally join the range to fill the gap between the ordinary A5 Sportback and the sporty S5 Sportback.

Unfortunately, manual transmissions are no longer offered at any Audi, because 2018 is the last year carmakers offer cars with third pedals. The A4 Ultrasport sedan series was introduced to mark the end of time.
2022 Audi A5 Interior
The interior of the A5 Sportback cabin is not as luxurious as some might expect from a luxury brand, but all the materials are of high quality, the fitting and finishing are amazing, and there are enough advanced features to keep it away from the mainstream sedan.
Backseat passenger space isn’t as cheap as in the Audi A4 sedan, but it is spacious enough for two average-sized adults – and for light sacrifice in the rear headroom, you get the sleek A5 Sportback roofline, which is much sexier than that of the A4 siblings who are more angle and upright.
All A5 Sportback models are equipped with luxury needs such as power front seats, leather seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and three-zone automatic climate control.

2022 Audi A5 Exterior
On the exterior A5 is available as a coupe, convertible, or five-door hatchback called the Audi Sportback. Each is unique and attractive in style.
A5 Sportback is more popular and how do we get to 7. The shape-outside is better than good, good. The interior is fine, but it will be difficult to live up to the exterior.
Sportback took the car maker’s recipe from the A7 Sportback and photocopied it 75%. The five-door hatchback has a strong roofline and sharp LEDs that frame a large grille. The A5 coupe and convertible are definitely in the family, but Sportback is our favorite child.
Roam outside the German rainbow in silver, black, and shades of white gifts A5 buyers. Make it ours Navarra Blue. Beyond black leather, Audi has a warm tone menu that helps change the cabin.
2022 Audi A5 Tech
In the MMI technology section of Audi is one of the most pleasant infotainment systems to be used among premium brands.
This is made even better with the optional 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Virtual digital display gauge – and highly recommended.
All models are equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment touch screen which can also be controlled by a click wheel mounted on the console between the driver and front-seat passengers.
The Audi MMI interface is easy to use while traveling, but the integration of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto is standard if users prefer to interact directly with their smartphone.
Navigation is optional and is equipped with access to a series of internet and vehicle connectivity features called Audi Connect Prime and Audi Connect Plus.
2022 Audi A5 Engine
On the Engine side Like last year, A5 is available in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. The TFSI A5 Sportback 40 is the most affordable and costs $ 42,795 to get started, including destinations.
40 TFSI is a turbo-4 with lower power, compared to other lineups. The A5 45 TFSI punchier is available in all three body styles; The coupe and hatchback cost the same, and the convertible costs $ 6,400 more.
The S5 is hotter and faster than the A5 and is offered in all three body styles for more than $ 53,000 to start. The RS5s scorched on the road, but we haven’t heard about that.
A5 is related to A4 but drains more slippery lines around the same mechanism. A5 Sportback is the crowd viewer, but it is difficult to find a bad angle.
The A5 Sportback 40 TFSI is powered by 201 new turbo-4 horsepower this year. The A5 45 TFSI uses a 261-hp turbo-4 that is enhanced with greater power than last year’s version and adds a lightweight hybrid technology that can reduce fuel consumption at lower speeds.
For 2022, the A5 Sportback can be owned with two turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains, both of which use a 12-volt hybrid system. Models that use the 40 badges give 201-hp while 45 models pump 261-hp.
All-wheel drive is standard and all A5 Sportbacks are equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission.
We haven’t tested any models yet, but the latest generation car with a more powerful engine manages zero-to-60-mph 5.0 seconds results on our test track.
A5 Sportback is calm, confident, and easy to drive through corners; that’s all modern sports sedans should be.
Its agility belies its comfort too: broken holes and sidewalks don’t disappoint much, especially when equipped with optional adaptive suspensions.
Good-weighted steering feels natural in the hands of the driver, and the front tire responds immediately to input, making this Audi fun to drive on twisty tarmac.
2022 Audi A5 Powertrain
On the power side, the Audi powertrain lineup for A5 covers a wide range. This year, smaller turbo-4s are available for budget buyers (relatively) looking for a swoopy look, but without mega prices.
Our 7th rank here applies to the upgraded TFSI 45, which is a 2.0 liter turbo-4 found among the three body styles: hatchback, coupe, and convertible.
This is rated at 261 hp (up 13 hp from last year) and is paired with a 7-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
It was strong enough to drive A5 to 60 mph from stopping in six seconds or less, which is a point above our average. A5 gets another point for competent handling.
The A5 Sportback offers a less powerful turbo-4 that produces 201 hp and is new for this year. The TFSI 40 is also paired with an automatic 7-speed drive and all-wheel drive, even though we haven’t yet driven it. We will report back as soon as we do.
All three body styles offer a hot S5 powertrain that matches a 349-hp V-6 turbo with an 8-speed automatic, and an all-wheel-drive that runs 0-60-mph which stimulates a smiling smile in less than five seconds.
All of the above trips with independent four-wheel suspension and A5s can be equipped with a lower and stiffer sport suspension which is optional on several trims.
The S5 uses the sport settings as standard hardware and can complement it with adaptive dampers, variable steering, and limited-slip differential at the rear, all of which require additional costs.
Fortunately, a sharp steering wheel is included on all cars. Each A5 steers precisely and quickly, although a variable steering rack can make some of us off guard; the steering wheel accelerates significantly around corners and takes time to get used to.
2022 Audi A5 EPA
The EPA has not yet released fuel economy forecasts for the Sportback A5 2022, but last year’s model produced estimates of 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
Although we haven’t tested Sportback 2022 A5 on our real-world highway fuel-saving route, the older model we evaluated returned 34 mpg during that test.
2022 Audi A5 Price
Price information like last year, we will continue to use Premium Plus mid-range. It adds many features to justify the price uptick, including the Audi digital display Cockpit trick.
Although we haven’t moved the model 40 or 45 with the new hybrid system, we believe that 45 that is far more powerful is what should be used here, so we will be happy to check the mark on the order sheet.
The good news for the Audi A5 2022 is that the base model is cheaper than last year, and is well-equipped.
A5 gets a 7 out of 10 for features thanks to its standard equipment, including a nice touch screen.
Like last year, the A5 and S5 coupe, convertible and Sportback are available in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. A5 Sportback 40 TSFI is the most affordable model and costs $ 42,795 to get started.
That’s $ 900 less than last year’s Sportback base, but they are also equipped with less powerful engines. Coupes and convertibles are not available with smaller turbo-4s and start at $ 44,995 and $ 51,395, respectively. The hotter S5 starts at $ 53,495 and reaches up to $ 70,000.
The premium version of A5 is equipped with leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, moonroof (or without a roof for the conversion version), 10.1-inch touch screen for infotainment including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless compatibility. That’s where we spend our money.
The Premium Plus model adds a digital instrument cluster, enhanced headlights, and new standard adaptive cruise control features and driver assistance features.
For a further $ 4,900 on the A5 model ($ 3,600 on the S5 model), it is a valuable feature that we will consider, even though the additional costs are a bit steep.
The prestige version uses an all-in with premium audio, a head-up display, and a heated back seat around an average of $ 5,000.
Appearance packages are available on the Prestige and Premium Plus models which add larger wheels and faint exterior elements.
The 10.1-inch touch screen has been updated for the 2022 A5 model with a faster processor, more features, and can add options such as navigation later, even if the car leaves the factory without them.
